Founder/Director/Outreach Educator
Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Masters Social Work (MSW), Delaware State University and Widener University.  BA Sociology BA Women Studies University of Delaware. Recipient of the Middletown Jaycees 2009 OUTSTANDING YOUNG AMERICAN AWARD. Recipient of the 2008 YWCA GENIEVE GORE YOUNG WOMAN'S LEADERSHIP AWARD.  Named one of "40 UNDER 40 PEOPLE TO WATCH" by Delaware Today Magazine, May 2008.  Received the Delaware State University, College of Health & Public Policy, Social Work, DEAN'S AWARD OF EXCELLENCE, for exemplifying Leadership, Academic, Research and Community Engagement Excellence.  Certified Domestic Violence Specialist, Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence, since 2001.  Domestic Violence Certification, State required Training, Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 2002.  2010 Certified through Planned Parenthood Delaware in Making Proud Choices: A Pregnancy & HIV Prevention Program.  2010 Certified Specialty Instructor through Delaware Institute For Excellence in Early Childhood (DIEEC).  She is also a member of the NASW.

Melissa Brittingham, BA
Board Advisor/Outreach Educator
Missy was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.  She also attended Chatham University, where she completed 48 credits toward a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.  After moving to Delaware in 2005, Missy has focused her work in assisting children and families in crisis through a domestic violence shelter, The Attorney General’s Office, The Department of Corrections, and Delaware Families Inc.  She also is a Certified Masters Instructor by the Delaware Institute For Excellence in Early Childhood (DIEEC).

Lori H Jones, LCSW
Board Advisor
Ms. Jones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and family therapist with the Herman Rosenblum, MD Adolescent Center. She has been with this program since January 2005. Ms. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delaware and a Master of Social Service from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.  Ms. Jones offers over 16 years of experience working with children and their families in a multitude of therapeutic settings to Delaware Families, Inc. She is also a member of the NASW.

John F. Mucha, LCSW
Board Advisor
John is a native of western Massachusetts. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1972 with a B.A. in Political Science, from Frostburg State University in 1985 with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), and from Delaware State University in 2008 with a Master of Social Work (MSW). He retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 2006 after a 30 year career in Information Technology, with over 20 years in supervision. Since becoming a social worker, he has worked for People Place II's Turning Point Program as a Domestic Violence Group Facilitator and Anger Management instructor, and for Children & Families First as a Family Therapist. Currently, John is employed as a Social Worker/Counselor at Delaware Hospice, Inc.

Alysha McLaurin, MSW
Board Advisor
BA in Women’s Studies, double minor in Sexualities and Gender Studies and Medical Humanities, University of Delaware 2009. Currently enrolled at Delaware State University in the Master of Social Work program and will graduate in May 2011. She has significant research experience in the areas of human sexuality, human development, race relations, and familial relationships. Since August 2009 she has worked with women, children, and teens addressing issues of healthy and unhealthy relationships, domestic violence, and positive life skills. Alysha is 2010 Certified through Planned Parenthood Delaware in Making Proud Choices: A Pregnancy & HIV Prevention Program.  She is currently employed as a Social Worker Dover Behavioral Health System.

Tara Adams, MSW, LCSW
Board Advisor
Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Tara holds a BSW degree from West Chester University and a MSW degree from Delaware State University.  She has over ten years of hands-on experience in the field of Social Work primarily working with children & families and adults with disabilities.  She served as Program Coordinator, Kent & Sussex County for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware, Inc.  Currently, Tara works for Children & Families First and Dover Behavioral Health System.
